On Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, a “special state of emergency on the home front” was declared throughout the country. The validity of this declaration has been extended until March 12, 2026. As of now it applies to all areas of the State of Israel.

The Israeli Medical Association strengthens and supports the physicians and their families.

Under the Emergency Labor Service Law, employees working in essential enterprises or in enterprises providing essential services are required to report to their workplace.

The healthcare system is operating in accordance with the Home Front Command’s defense guidelines.

In accordance with the directives of the Home Front Command and the Ministry of Health, as of this date the healthcare system is operating in a coordinated and controlled format, with the goal of maintaining full functional continuity alongside high operational readiness.

The Kupot Cholim (HMOs) have been instructed to operate clinics and institutes that comply with the Home Front Command’s protection policy and to maintain only essential community-based activities, while minimizing, as much as possible, referrals to hospitals. The Kupot Cholim have also been required to prepare to expand remote telephone-based services, including medical services, as an alternative to clinics that will not operate due to protection limitations.

Hospitals have been instructed to shift to a working format that enables the intake of casualties, while reducing non-urgent or semi-urgent ambulatory activity and postponing elective procedures.

We recommend that you stay continuously updated via the Home Front Command website regarding updates to the guidelines. In addition, we recommend that you follow the daily instructions issued by the medical institution in which you are employed.
