The IMA plays an active role in the international medical community. It is a member of numerous global medical organizations, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration with colleagues around the world. The IMA maintains strong reciprocal relationships with medical associations worldwide and may join international professional organizations as a branch, department, or other official entity.
Through initiatives such as international projects, conferences, joint events, and continuing education programs, the IMA actively promotes Israeli medicine on the global stage. It also publishes a range of materials—including position papers, the IMA Around the Globe newsletter, and four medical journals: IMAJ, JIMS, Harefuah (in Hebrew), and JIMM.
The IMA fosters a strong sense of community among medical professionals, both in Israel and globally. Through collaboration with international organizations and the IMA International Membership Program, it builds bridges between Israeli doctors and their counterparts worldwide. These connections are further strengthened through international meetings, events, and joint initiatives.
