      The improvement of health and medical care through the advancement of medical research by physician-researchers in Israel.

      Objective

      The establishment of an Israeli National Academy for Science in Medicine as a non-governmental, not for profit institution, under the auspices of the Israeli Medical Association, in order to improve medical diagnosis and treatment and individual and public health.

      The Israeli National Academy for Science in Medicine will be comprised of the top researchers from among Israel's physicians, and will utilize their abilities, expertise and experience in advancing medical research in Israel and will recognize their achievements and contributions to clinical and bio-medical research around the world.

      1. The cultivation and advancement of excellence in medical research executed by physician researchers.
      2. Collaboration with governmental, professional and scientific bodies in Israel and around the world on various issues related to medical research by physician researchers.
      3. The recognition of physician-researchers who have produced leading research, outstanding achievements and significant contributions to medical science in Israel and the world.

      In order to achieve these goals, the Academy will function independently, with commitment to a scientific, evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, identify challenges faced by medical science and aim to solve them, through the creation and advancement of collaborations with relevant bodies in Israel and around the world.
