Academy supports student journal
JIMS encourages students to get involved in research
The Israeli National Academy of Science in Medicine is one of the founding supporters of JIMS-the Journal of Israeli Medical Students, a new medical journal produced by and for students. The journal is modeled after similar established programs at top-tier universities such as Harvard and Yale.
JIMS encourages students to get involved in research, and gain experience in the academic publishing process by being exposed to feedback from world-renowned researchers and physicians.
By encouraging future physicians at the onset of their careers to engage in research while still in medical school, we can help them build a bridge between the lab and the clinic that will propel scientific discovery and application throughout their entire careers.
The Academy has designated a committee of its members to advise and accompany the editors of the journal in this groundbreaking endeavor.
