(last updated on January 12, 2020)

Privacy Policy

The Israel Medical Association (hereinafter: “IMA”) respects the privacy of those who use the Internet sites and applications it manages and operates (hereinafter: “the sites”). Therefore, the IMA decided to publish its policy regarding the protection of user privacy on the sites, and is committed to carrying out this policy.

We ask you to carefully read the terms of this policy because any use of the sites, content and/or services and/or products offered on them is subject to the restrictions appearing in this document.

The aim of the policy is to explain the IMA’s practices regarding the privacy of users on its sites, and how the IMA uses information provided by users on its sites and/or information it collects during their use of the sites and the content and services offered on them.

General

During use of the sites, information on the user is collected. Some of the information identifies the user personally, by the user’s name and address, means of payment used, and so on. This is information the user provides knowingly – for example, when registering for various services on the sites.

Some of the information does not identify the user personally and is not saved together with the user’s details, but is statistical and cumulative information. This includes, for example, the pages viewed, the areas that interested the user, the user’s IP address, and so on.

Registration for Services

To the extent that personal details are required when registering for services on the sites or when purchasing products offered on them, the IMA asks the user only for the information directly needed for supplying the services or purchasing the products.

Databases

Collected data will be stored in the IMA’s databases, under its responsibility.

Information Use

Collected information will be used only in accordance with this privacy policy and by directive of any law, in order to –

  • Enable the use of various services on the sites.
  • Improve and enrich the services and content offered on the sites.
  • Change or cancel existing services and content.
  • Facilitate the purchase of products and services on the sites, including the publication of information and content.

In general, the information used by the IMA will be primarily statistical data that does not personally identify the user.

Direct Electronic Mailing

The IMA is interested in occasionally sending email to you with information about its services, as well as marketing and advertising information. You will be able to cancel your consent and stop receiving such email by clicking the link that appears at the bottom of each email we send, and thus remove yourself from the mailing list.

The IMA will not share your personal details with advertisers. However, it is authorized to share statistical information on the activity of users on the sites. Statistical data the IMA shares will not identify you personally.

Links to External Sites

Connecting to external sites that appear in links on IMA sites is the user’s responsibility. The privacy policies of those sites are not connected to the IMA site and the user is responsible for checking those policies.

Personal Area on the IMA Site, the Residents' site and the Unions' Site

The personal area is accessed via the user’s ID number, password and year of birth. The user is obligated to keep the password secret. If the method of identification changes, the users will be informed of this in a personal email message.

Transferring Information to a Third Party

The IMA will not transfer your personal details and information collected about your activity on the site to third parties, except in the following cases:

Information Security

The IMA uses the latest systems, tools and procedures to secure data on its sites.
