June 2022: WMA Regional meeting in Asia on the revision of the International Code of Medical Ethics

Over the past two years, the World Medical Association has been conducting an intensive process towards completing a comprehensive update and revision of its International Code of Medical Ethics. This process has included regional meetings all over the world, the latest being held in Bangkok, Thailand on June 7-8. 2022. Adv. Malke Borow, Director of the Division of Law and Policy, represented the IMA at this meeting.

Over the two-day meeting, the participants, hailing from all over the region, discussed outstanding issues in the revised draft and presented their views and cultural perspectives. Adv. Borow lectured on the topic of "Physician Advertising and Marketing" and discussed IMA ethics guidelines on these issues and real-life examples with which the IMA ethics committee dealt over the last couple of years.
