Applying for a license to practice medicine in Israel

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is the body authorized by law to grant licenses to practice medicine in Israel. Details on the licensing process in Israel are available on the Ministry of Health website.

 

Internship/ licensing exam

Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to pass a licensing exam, or an internship exam administered by the Israeli Ministry of Health.

After Appling for medical licensing in Israel, the MOH determines which examination is required. The MOH can also issue an exemption to physicians who meet the criteria set by law.

 

For verify which exam (licensing/internship) is required and register to the exam or verify eligibility for exemption, contact the Ministry of Health.

 

 
For matters relating to the exam itself (a request or an appeal) can be submitted to the coordinator of the Internship/ Licensing Exams Committee in the Scientific Council of the Israeli Medical Association using the online form or by calling 972-3-6100419.

 

Attention

Foreign specialists whose certification obtained abroad, may submit simultaneously for recognition of their certification, to the Scientific Council of the Israeli Medical Association.
