Scholarships and Grants Winners of the Scholarships and Grants 2001 Every year the World Fellowship of the Israel Medical Association awards grants to several young Israeli physicians planning to further their studies abroad. A special committee, formed by distinguished Israeli medical professors, selects the candidates, according to the candidates' clinical and medical achievements and to their future contribution to the Israeli medical system. A ceremony follows for the award presentation, in which the chairmen of the Israel Medical Association, the World Fellowship, the chapters abroad, distinguished figures from the medical system, family members of the awardees, as well as family members of the donating families are attending this event. During the ceremony, the World Fellowship also awards research grants in a variety of fields to Israeli researchers as a token of their excellence in medical research, or as financial assistance for research.
