Structure of the World Fellwoship

A - The World Fellowship shall be governed by a Central board whose Israeli membership shall be elected by the National Council of the Israel Medical Association and whose non-Israeli membership shall be elected by local chapters or local organizations, for 2 years terms of office. Membership shall be limited to 12 members, one half are Israeli. The President of the Central Board shall be elected by the local chapter or the local organizations, for two years terms of office. Membership shall be limited to 12 members, one half of whom are Israeli.

B - The administration and operation of the World Fellowship shall be in the hands of an Executive Committee of the Central Board. The Executive Committee shall be composed of the Chairman (who must be Israeli and President of the Central Board, and who is elected by the National Council of the Israel Medical Association), 3 Vice- Presidents (who must be non- Israeli), a Secretary (who must be Israeli), a Treasurer (who must be Israeli) and up to 14 other members, one-half of whom must be Israeli

  (1) Non-Israeli membership on the Executive Committee, like Israeli        membership, cannot exceed the number of 10 persons.
  (2) Non-Israeli membership must include one representative from each        chapter. When the membership in any of these chapters exceed by 1,000        members over the first 1000 membership in that country, it shall be        entitled to an additional representative, based upon one delegate for        each 1,000 members, but no chapter can have more than 3        representative.
  (3) The Chairman of the Executive Committee shall have one vote, but in        case of a tie, the chairman shall have an additional vote in order to        break a tie vote.
  (4) The Executive committee shall have as its prime tasks the following:

         The publication of an English newsletter which will serve as means of             communication among members of the Israel Medical Association             worldwide;
        The publication of informative literature on medical and professional             projects and conferences in Israel;
        The sending of its representatives abroad in order to spread the             concept of the World Fellowship and to give information about the              State of Israel;
        The arrangements for enabling eminent scientists and doctors from             abroad to present lectures and workshops in Israel;
        The arrangements for enabling qualified doctors from abroad to             participate in the Physicians Exchange Program.;
        The organization of the World Assembly of the World Fellowship and;
        The organization of a hospitality committee to welcome visiting             doctors to the State of Israel.

C - All members attending the Annual Executive Meeting of the World Fellowship shall constitute the World Assembly of the Israel Medical Association, which is convened by the Central Committee of the Israel Medical Association. The Central Committee of the Israel Medial Association is solely responsible for carrying out the decisions of the World Assembly after the conclusion of the annual meeting. The World Assembly is to be convened in Israel every three years, and its program is to be arranged with scientific, social and business organization. Doctors and medical students who are not members of the Israel Medical Association nor its World Fellowship, may by invitation attend meetings of the World Assembly.

D - The business of the annual meeting shall be administered by the World Advisory Council whose membership shall be elected by both Israeli and non- Israeli local chapters or organizations. Membership on the World Advisory Council shall be composed of twelve members of the Central Board of the World Fellowship. Up to 20 members of the Executive Committee of the World Fellowship, and up to 21 representatives at large from the various countries where there are members of the World Fellowship, at least 1/3 of which membership must be Israeli.

    (1) Any country having less than 25 members will be represented by one          delegate who will be without voting rights. Any country (or group of          countries) having more than 100 members will be represented by two          delegates with full voting rights. Any country (or group of countries)          may have more than three delegates with full voting rights, except for          the State of Israel whose total representation must be ½ of all          membership.
    (2) The World Advisory Council Shall meet, if possible, once every year.
    (3) The World Advisory Council shall hear reports from the Central Board of          the World Fellowship and from the Executive Committee of the World          Fellowship. The World Advisory Council shall discuss such reports, and          make decisions with respect to such reports.
