The following introduction to the excerpt by Dr. Michael Gordon was inadvertently omitted:

Dr. Michael Gordon is a longstanding member of the Israel Medical Association World Fellowship. He is an academic

geriatrician living in Toronto who spent four years in Israel from 1969-1973 which included service in the Israel Air Force as a physician and training in Internal Medicine at Shaare Zedek Hospital. He is an avid writer, and in addition to his academic writing has written for the lay public, including articles and books to assist families in looking after their aging loved ones. His most recent book however is a departure from these writings.

Brooklyn Beginnings-A Geriatrician’s Odyssey is a memoir which is full of stories about Dr. Gordon’s life and experiences and how he ended up getting from Brooklyn to Toronto which included studies in Scotland, training in the United States, travel and work in Europe and life and his experiences in Israel and his extensive work in the field of geriatrics and medical ethics. For more information about this book and others check his website: http://www.drmichaelgordon.com/

The excerpt published in the newsletter is from his book, Brooklyn Beginnings.
